Position SummaryThe Human Resources Generalist serves as a key player in the Human Resources department at our client's law firm, responsible for delivering comprehensive HR services and programs to support the firm's strategic objectives and maintain a professional work environment. This role involves managing employee relations, attorney and staff recruitment, performance management, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.Position DetailsFLSA Status: ExemptWork Location: Onsite (Beverly Hills)Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pmHours: Full time, 40 hoursweekEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPartners with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to communicate human resource policies, procedures, laws, and regulations across multi-functional HR disciplinesManages the full-cycle recruitment process for legal and non-legal positions, including coordinating with practice group leaders and managing relationships with legal recruitment firmsDevelops and administers HR programs aligned with law firm culture and professional services environmentEnsures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with particular attention to legal industry regulations and requirementsMaintains confidential employee records and legal documentation in compliance with regulatory requirementsAdministers attorney and staff performance review processes, including partnership track evaluations and associate development programsManages comprehensive benefits programs tailored to legal professionals, including health insurance, retirement plans, and professional development benefitsCoordinates continuing legal education (CLE) tracking and professional development programsSupports diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the firmManages employee relations issues with particular sensitivity to the legal environmentConducts HR data analysis to identify trends and provide insights for firm managementAssists in developing and implementing retention strategies for both attorneys and staffManages leave administration, including parental leave and sabbaticalsCoordinates with firm management on succession planning and organizational developmentJob QualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of HR experience (required), with at least 2 years in a law firm or professional services environment (preferred)Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulationsAdvanced proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to interact professionally with attorneys, staff, and clientsStrong discretion and ability to handle confidential informationSHRM-CP, PHR, or other relevant HR certification required
