Backed by top-tier investors and a world-class team of engineers and clinicians, the company is entering a critical phase of technology maturation and commercialization.Seeking a Head of Software Development to lead the design, development, and deployment of the software architecture that powers its robotic platform and digital ecosystem. This individual will drive platform software architecture as well as all cloud connectivity, SDLC practices and protocols, SW team development and scale, internal SW tools & automation infrastructure, as well as cybersecurity.The ideal candidate has a deep technical background in robotics, medical devices, and realtime embedded systems, as well as experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute the software development strategy, ensuring alignment with product and regulatory requirements.Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of real-time control, robotic kinematics, computer vision, and AI-driven guidance for the surgical robot.Oversee the development of safety-critical software adhering to FDA and IEC 62304 standards.Build and manage a high-performance software engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and clinical teams to drive seamless system integration.Establish and enforce software development best practices, including version control, testing frameworks, and CICD pipelines.Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards for medical devices.Lead efforts in software verification & validation, simulation, and robotic testing.QualificationsMaster's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of experience in software development for robotics, medical devices, or real-time systems.Proven leadership experience in building and scaling software teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment.Deep expertise in C++, Python, ROS (Robot Operating System), and real-time operating systems (RTOS).Strong background in control systems, motion planning, computer vision, and AI-driven algorithms.Experience with FDA regulatory requirements, medical software standards (IEC 62304), and safety-critical development.Familiarity with cloud-based healthcare data integration and cybersecurity is a plus.
