MIG Welder

SUMMARY: Responsible for various types of preparation, welding and welding finishing operators to manufacture steel burial vaults. Move vaults with hand cart, set up, and finish. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Completion of assigned welding duties. Working knowledge of fixtures and welding set-up parameters. Must know how to use conventional and precision measuring instruments. Maintains accurate records of test results and reports Conducts tests on welds and fixes welds if necessary. Operates required machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintains a neat and clean work area, follows established tool and instrument control procedures, and reports any unsafe acts or conditions to Team Leader. Performs inspections and installations of parts and components on equipment, maintains accurate records of the installation of these parts and the collection of test data. Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. Performs related duties as assigned by team leadersupervisor. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill andor ability required. EDUCATION ANDOR EXPERIENCE: High School Education or GED; Technical Degree is beneficial but not required.  One to Three years related experience. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute, rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret metal ruler. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly life andor move up to 10 pounds, frequently life andor move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally life andor move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Regularly works near moving or mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
