Job Title: Engineering Technology SpecialistLocation: KentuckyJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Engineering Technology Specialist to lead maintenance activities and tasks. This role requires an individual capable of making independent decisions and evaluating alternative solutions for equipment reliability. As a subject matter expert, you will guide the implementation of maintenance programs, systems, automation, PLCs, and other essential processes to ensure optimal equipment performance. This position also involves overseeing and mentoring other engineering technicians.What you'll do:Lead and oversee all PLC programming for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation systems to enhance equipment reliability.Manage and lead the installation of industrial equipment, including machinery and automation systems.Provide advanced technical support to maintenance personnel for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues during planned outages.Develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring necessary parts are ordered and equipment complies with regulatory standards.Conduct regular inspections, perform repairs, and adapt or replace outdated technology to improve operational stall and upgrade system components to improve optimization and diagnose systems for necessary adjustments.Participate in staffing decisions, including hiring, firing, and promotions within the department.Analyze installed equipment and recommend improvements for system performance.Lead cost-reduction initiatives to minimize operational expenses.Mentor and supervise other technicians, ensuring their continued development and performance.Supervisory Responsibilities:Supervise and lead engineering technicians as required, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or related field, or an Associate degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience.Prior supervisory or lead technician experience preferred.Expertise in PLCRobotic programming.Familiarity with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and AutoCAD.Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Dedication to maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.Physical Demands:Regularly required to talk or hear.Frequently required to walk, sit, and use hands to handle or feel objects.Occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and liftmove up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment:The role is based in an industrial setting with varying temperatures, loud noise, and heavy activity.
