As the Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to manage daily kitchen operations and ensure the highest quality of food and service. The ideal candidate will be passionate about culinary excellence, skilled in managing staff, and eager to contribute to a growing hospitality venue in a fantastic location.This is an excellent opportunity for a sous chef looking to grow their career and make a significant impact.ResponsibilitiesCulinary Support and LeadershipAssist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring quality in food preparation and presentation.Supervise kitchen staff to maintain consistency in food quality, portion control, and plating standards.Step in to lead kitchen operations during the Executive Chef's absence.Team Management and TrainingTrain, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain a high-performing and cohesive team.Assist in scheduling and managing staff shifts to optimize kitchen efficiency.Foster a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork and collaboration.Operational EfficiencyMonitor food inventory, assist with ordering, and maintain proper stock levels.Support the Executive Chef in managing food costs and maintaining operational efficiency.Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, including HACCP protocols.Event and Menu SupportCollaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and execute menus for daily dining, special events, and catering services.Assist in customizing menus for client events, weddings, and corporate gatherings.Work with the sales and event teams to ensure smooth execution of culinary aspects for events.Guest SatisfactionSupport interactions with guests to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction with their dining experience.Address and resolve any culinary-related issues promptly.Menu DevelopmentContribute to menu development by suggesting new ideas and culinary trends.Help create seasonal and special event menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef.QualificationsProven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a high-volume, upscale dining environment.Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.Passion for high-quality cuisine and guest satisfaction.Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
