We are hiring " Director of Planned Giving " for medical center based in Boston.Job DescriptionPosition: Director of Planned GivingDepartment: DevelopmentSchedule: Full-TimeThe Director of Planned Giving, as a member of the Major Gifts and Individual Giving team, is responsible for managing all aspects of BMC's planned giving program. This includes overseeing a portfolio of prospects, developing donor engagement and educational strategies, and collaborating with Development Communications and Annual Fund teams on solicitation efforts. The Director plays a critical role in achieving fundraising goals by securing planned and blended gifts and providing strategic support to frontline staff.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage BMC's planned giving program, creating strategies for donors at all levels, including board members, major donors, employees, executives, and grateful patients.Actively manage a portfolio of 50-100 planned giving donors and prospects, with a proven track record of closing planned and blended gifts.Identify, cultivate, and secure planned gifts such as bequests, trusts, life-income gifts, and real estate, ranging from five to eight figures.Regularly meet or exceed revenue targets and key metrics.Launch and manage a planned giving legacy recognition society to strengthen long-term donor engagement and support.Collaborate with frontline gift officers to identify planned giving opportunities, set goals, and develop tailored strategies for select prospects and donors.Serve as a strategic advisor to frontline fundraisers, guiding complex gift scenarios and involving external advisors when necessary.Coordinate with Operations to track and evaluate planned gifts accurately.Develop educational materials in partnership with Communications to promote the financial benefits of planned gifts.Partner with the Annual Fund team to incorporate planned giving language into various solicitations.Work closely with Finance and General Counsel to execute planned gift transactions.Stay informed on planned giving trends and tax implications to maximize donor opportunities.Participate in annual program planning, budgeting, goal setting, progress reporting, and evaluation.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and development experience.Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience.Skills:Proven success in closing planned gifts and managing a planned giving portfolio.Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to handle complex programs, manage multiple demands, and adapt to evolving needs.Decision-making skills, with the ability to work both independently and as a team player.Experience in handling sensitive and confidential matters.Must haves :Candidate must have 7 years of relevant experience work in hybrid mode (1-2 days on-site per week) Certifications: None required.This description outlines the general nature and scope of responsibilities associated with this role and is not exhaustive.
