Sweater Designer Temp to Perm

We are looking for a Sweater Designer for a leading fashion company. This individual will be responsible for creating sweater and knit design from conception to final product for a young contemporary brand. This is a temp to perm position and requires 5 days onsite.Responsibilities:Responsible for managing the design process from conception through to final styling for women's sweatersResponsible for product design process to include market research, conceptual presentations, design and guidance through fabric, print, spec and fit processesResponsible for researching markets in order to identify new trends, fabrics, techniques, etc.Actively participates in the conceptual development of product lines (i.e., sells ideasconcepts and convinces others to adopt a course of action)Provides recommendations regarding seasonal themes, edits to line, new conceptsPresents design ideas and products to cross functional partnersProvides insight regarding style and fit of product during presentationEnsures that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategyResponsible for fabric and trim selectionCreates and updates tech sketches and BOMsWorks with technical designer and production partner and CAD team to ensure design integrity, and that design packages are complete and accuratePartner with merchandising to assort line and develop product appropriate for business needsRequired Qualifications:College degree in Fashion Design or a related fieldMinimum 5 years design experienceStrong computer knowledge including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, PLM and Microsoft ExcelAbility to hand sketchStrong design and conceptual skillsStrong sense of trend, style and colorThorough knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color use, sewing techniques, graphics and trimStrong communication, presentation and organizational skillsUnderstanding of merchandising as it relates to sales and store environmentIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.The Solomon Page Distinction Solomon Page offers a comprehensive benefit program for hourly employees.
