Lead Designer - Soft Window

Position is in NYC four days a week with Fridays WFH. Must have strong soft window experience. This is Not a graphic designer position.Soft Home company is looking for a soft windows Lead Designer (or Manager) to lead the category which is our strongest. Must be deeply experienced with soft widow and drapery to be considered. While designing sometimes you will lead the category and direct internal and external resources. If you're a soft window expert, we want to speak with you. Title may change depending upon the matchPosition Overview:Actively research and identify textiles trends through comp shopping, trend magazines, and shopping open and domestic markets.Develop content with the ability to present to retail customers.Oversee, manage and inspire a team of overseas designers located in New York and Shanghai offices.Effectively communicate with all levels of the company including Sales, Design, Product Development, and Sourcing.Create detailed Tech Packs for Production of all new developments.Builds product from ground up and follows it through the complete life cycle.Conceptualizes, directs and executes complete showroom resets twice yearly.Must be hands on and strategic at the same time.Overseas and domestic travel is required.Qualifications:Strong soft WindowDrapery backgroundKnowledge in textile CAD design.Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.Expert color sense.Knowledge of Fabric Weaving, Printing, Production Techniques and Spec details.Must be able to give direction, interpret ideasconcepts, and delegate to local and overseas design teams.Ability to interpret sample designs and develop into custom designs.Experienced with branding and packaging.Reliable team player, self-motivated starter, and effective problem solver.Must possess strong leadership skills with ability to delegate.High priority will be placed on organization and attention to detail.College degree preferred.Hybrid schedule: Four days in office, one day remote.
