Duties and Responsibilities:The Estimator's primary responsibility is to support and assist the Estimating Team in preparation of bids and estimates by performing quantity take-offs, data input, product research, and subcontractor acquisition.Participates in estimate strategy planning.Performs quantity take-offs.Provides verification of take-offs by support staff.HCSS estimate entry.Assists in HCSS database administration.Participates in bid review processes.Familiarity with subcontractor acquisition, scope verification, and negotiation.Provides product research and data input.Attends client pre-bid meetings and job showings, visit job sites, and maintains a record of all verbal information disseminated by the client during the pre-bid meeting and job showing.Has the ability to explain details behind each estimate, including the basis of the man-hours allocated for each task, personnel resources needed to execute each task, etc.Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment.Displays superior written and oral communication skills.Employs effective listening skills.Develops tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with diverse personnel.Conducts business with 100% integrity and professionalism.Occasional travel to job sites for pre-bid conferences required. Work may require occasional weekend andor evening work.Education andor Work Experience Requirements:B.S. in Construction or Engineering related degree or commensurate practical experience.Experience working on maritime and heavy civil projects.Minimum of 5 years experience in estimating role.Experience in construction project management preferred, but not required with commensurate estimating experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.HCSS heavy bid experience required.Agtek experience.Ability to perform detailed take-offs for the following work types: CIP & Precast Concrete, Structural, Earth Work, Utilities, and Mechanical Process.Familiar with reading heavy civil construction drawings and blueprints with detailed specifications.Understand and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative andor quantitative productivity standards.Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceCompensation Package:Bonus opportunitiesSchedule:10 hour shift12 hour shiftMonday to FridayWeekends as neededExperience:Construction estimating: 5 years (Required)Work Location: In person
