Job DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Trust Officer to support our clients and provide expert trust administration. This role involves interpreting and administering trusts, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and mentoring trust administrators. The Senior Trust Officer will also assist in the administration of estates where the company is appointed as executor.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive administration of personal trust accounts for moderate to complex situations.Review existing trust administration practices, identify areas for improvement, and enhance fiduciary oversight.Draft discretionary action memoranda, considering trust language, policies, tax implications, and state laws.Analyze trust instruments and ensure compliance with the terms of governing documents.Review estate and gift tax returns to support proper trust administration.Monitor account activity to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.Collaborate with Fiduciary Counsel on complex trust matters.Oversee estate administration where the company serves as executor.Represent the firm in interactions with ultra-high-net-worth clients, beneficiaries, outside counsel, CPAs, and other external parties.Supervise Trust Administrators' fee reviews and ensure accurate client billing.Partner with the Fiduciary Tax Group to coordinate tax payments and facilitate tax return preparation.Conduct and review new trust account openings and annual administrative reviews for assigned accounts.Oversee and review annual CRT, Unitrust, and power-to-adjust distributions.Prepare for and participate in periodic client meetings alongside Fiduciary Counsel.Qualifications10+ years of relevant trust experience, with Delaware trust experience preferred.Bachelor's degree required.Experience in estate administration preferred but not -depth knowledge of trust management, financial planning, philanthropic planning, and fiduciary law.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Certified Trust andor Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation or comparable certification preferred.Proficient in personal trust, IRAs, estates, and guardianship administration.Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.Team-oriented with a self-starter attitude.High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with the ability to learn new systems (e.g., performance reporting, data analytics, CRM).If you're a detail-oriented professional with a passion for trust administration and fiduciary responsibility, we encourage you to apply.
