We are seeking a Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager to lead our efforts in ensuring our products meet regulatory, industry, and customer expectations. This role is critical in maintaining the trust and loyalty of our customers and upholding the values of heart, honesty, efficiency, accountability, resourcefulness, and teamwork that define Avatar Natural Foods. Key Responsibilities: Food Safety Leadership: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of food safety programs, including HACCP, FSMA, and GMP compliance. Quality Assurance Management: Develop, monitor, and enforce quality assurance systems to ensure product consistency and excellence. Audits and Certifications: Prepare for and manage internal and external audits, including those for BRC, SQF, or similar certifications. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations meet or exceed local, state, and federal food safety regulations, including USDA and FDA requirements. Team Training: Train and develop staff on food safety practices, quality standards, and compliance procedures. Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve quality issues or customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of food safety and quality programs, inspections, and certifications. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to integrate food safety and quality into all aspects of operations. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to improve food safety systems and product quality. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in food safety and quality assurance, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, GMP, and other food safety regulations. Experience with third-party audits and certifications (e.g., BRC, SQF). Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and collaborate with teams.
