Position: Site Quality ManagerType: Contract to Hire (includes Full BenefitsPTO during contract)Location: Florence, KYSalary: Based on ExperienceSUMMARYKelly Engineering is seeking a Quality Manager for a contract to hire role with our client in Florence, KY. Our client has been in business for over 50 years and partners with the world's top brands, offering comprehensive engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain solutions. They are experiencing growth to support the manufacturing of servers and are actively interviewing and hiring. In this position, you will drive continuous improvement through the development and implementation of Quality processes, systems, tools and techniques and provide support to customers, team members, and shareholders.RESPONSIBILITIESEstablishing clear, measurable goals and objectives to assess individual and team results (such as operational metrics, project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of roles and responsibilities, and personal development goals).Soliciting ongoing feedback from the Workcell Manager (WCM), Business Unit Manager (BUM), peers, and team members on their contributions to the Workcell team. Providing continuous coaching and counseling to team members based on this feedback.Showing pride in staff and encouraging them to take pride in their accomplishments.Conducting team member evaluations professionally and in a timely manner.Motivating individuals and the team to consistently improve key operational metrics and achieve organizational goals.Coordinating activities of large teams and keeping them focused during crises.Ensuring recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently within the area of responsibility.Identifying individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.Developing andor validating training curriculum within the area of responsibility.Coaching and mentoring Quality Engineering staff to deliver excellent service to every internal and external customer.Developing and managing succession plans for the Quality municating criteria to recruiters for Quality Engineers, OBA (out-of-box audit) personnel, and Quality Analyst candidates.Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Quality Engineers, OBA personnel, and Quality Analyst resources.Monitoring team member turnover, identifying key factors that can be improved, and implementing improvements.Conducting a weekly communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information within the anizing verbal and written ideas clearly, using appropriate business style, asking questions, and encouraging input.Assessing the communication style of individual team members and adapting own communication style accordingly.Understanding and aligning with the campus strategic directions.Defining, developing, and executing a Quality strategy that contributes to the campus strategic directions.Developing an understanding of the Workcell business strategy as it pertains to Quality.Providing updates to Business Unit Managers, Workcell Managers, and Operations Manager on the strategy's execution.Identifying creative ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes and systems (such as modifying responsibilities, consolidating tasks, eliminating non-value-added processes, or re-engineering processes and systems).Using tools to monitor departmental costs and cost trends, continuously striving to improve value.Providing feedback to peers regarding costs and cost trends.Preparing timely forecasts for the department and comparing forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.Driving continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.Assessing the adequacy of data gathering methods used by the Workcells.Ensuring that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.Proposing new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identifying and implementing new practices and processes that are "best in field."Demonstrating a commitment to customer service by anticipating, meeting, and exceeding expectations, solving problems quickly and effectively, and making customer issues a priority.Understanding and driving regulatory and compliance certifications as appropriate (such as regulatory requirements surrounding ISO9000, ISO14000, QS9000, BABT, TUV). Serving as the company's Quality Management Representative (QMR).Establishing new measurement systems where possible.Exchanging knowledge and information with other client facilities to ensure best practices are shared throughout the organization.Ensuring 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (such as Health and Safety, Quality) and handling all sensitive and confidential information appropriately.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred in Engineering or Technology disciplines.7+ years of experience in high technology manufacturing, preferably including 3+ years in computer and network serverrack industry.6+ years of experience in a relevant quality position or equivalent external work experience5+ years of experience in a supervisory or management roleProven track record of driving improvements in computer and network serverrack products.Experience defining and changing quality culture in production environment.Able to develop and lead a cohesive quality team and drive cross functional collaboration.Successful track record of working in a matrixcollaborative environment.Strong background in ISO-9000 or similar ideally with ground up implementation experience.Multisite leadership experience a plus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Our client, including its subsidiaries, is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
