Payroll Manager

Position Summary: Our client, a growing organization in Orlando, FL, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Payroll Manager to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive multi-state payroll experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to oversee payroll for a large workforce. This role requires a hands-on leader to manage a team of six payroll professionals while ensuring compliance and accuracy in payroll processes. Key Responsibilities:Oversee the payroll process for more than 2,000 employees across multiple states, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of six payroll specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner, leveraging Paycom software (highly preferred) or similar platforms such as ADP, Workday, or Paylocity.Review and reconcile payroll reports, tax filings, and employee records to ensure accuracy and compliance.Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and maintain compliance.Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to address employee inquiries and resolve payroll-related issues.Stay current on payroll laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure the organization remains compliant.Work an average of 45-50 hours per week to meet deadlines and support the team effectively.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required.5+ years of experience in payroll, including people leadership.Proven experience managing payroll for 3,000+ employees.Multi-state payroll experience is required.Proficiency with Paycom preferred; experience with ADP, Workday, or Paylocity is also acceptable.Strong leadership and team management skills, with a willingness to take a hands-on approach as needed.Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various departments.Kavaliro provides Equal Employment Opportunities to all employees and applicants.
