AM Batteries, Inc., located in Billerica, MA, is revolutionizing battery manufacturing to enable a lower-cost and greener battery manufacturing process. AM Batteries is looking for an electromechanical hardware engineer to join our hardware and process R&D team. In this position, you will contribute to the development of next-generation manufacturing hardware and processes. You will spend most of your time in the lab, building, testing, experimenting, and improving designs over which you will have influence and ownership. You will work closely with an experienced team invested in your professional growth, development, and contributions to our product. Key Responsibilities:Design, prototype, and test prototype battery manufacturing components and devicesOperate and tune existing manufacturing processes with our process and operations teamsAnalyze existing process performance to develop first-principles driven design iterationsSynthesize electromechanical designs from lab- and prototype-scale observationsWork closely with colleagues to design, fabricate, implement, and evaluate prototype designsTroubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems Maintain scrupulous work records Required Qualifications: Training and work history:BS in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or a related field0-3 years of industry experienceA design portfolio (or website) showing off your current and past projectsSkills:Experience with programming (e.g., MATLAB, python, Arduino, Teensy)Comfortable and proficient with 3D modeling softwareFamiliar with multiple fabrication techniques (e.g., mill, lathe, laser cutter, 3D printer, breadboard, PCB layout)Proficiency with basic electronic circuits and feedback control systemsExcellent reading comprehension and written communication skillsWork style:Self-motivated with a keen attention to detailCoachable and appreciative of feedbackTake your work seriously Knock down walls to make things happen Bonus Skills:· MS, MEng· Experience with precision machine design· Member of project teams Cultural Contribution: You are expected to lead by example, promoting a culture of respect, problem-solving, and collaboration.
