The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and is able to keep a positive attitude under pressure and while juggling multiple priorities.Essential Functions of Position:Work with Chief Estimator to accomplish department goalsStrategize and plan for successful bid outcome with Business Developer and ManagementExperience bidding Private and Public Works projectsExperience and comfort bidding as a Prime ContractorExperience bidding complex and large-scale projects including podium and rooftop workSign and adhere to Non-Disclosure Agreements on confidential projectsUnderstand and incorporate client issued documents into bid process (ITB, SOW, Bid Form, Schedule, Specifications, etc.)Build qualified vendor and subcontractor network to ensure competitive pricingDescope subcontractor proposals and understand associated riskBuild cost estimates in bid and budget environmentsUnderstand appropriate markups per job type and scope of workAttend pre-bid and post scope review meetings with clientsManage project team and ensure bids are completed on timeProvide peer bid reviews as necessaryPackage projects, including all scopes of work, for management reviewProvide risk assessment and suggestions to alleviate risk exposure in projectsReview and contribute to value added pricing opportunitiesComplete proposals and bid packages per predefined strategyAccountable for complete project estimateAccountable for successful operational turnoverRequired Skills & Abilities:Professional demeanor with staff and clientsMust foster a positive and collaborative team environmentAbility to prioritize workload in high volume marketAbility to manage multiple project assignments concurrentlyMust be detail oriented and highly organizedStrong verbal and written communication skillsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience5-10 years of experience in commercial construction estimatingMust be proficient in Microsoft Office software programsPreferred experience working with estimating software platforms, including On-Screen Takeoff & Bid2WinDemonstrate proven track record of bid to contract conversionsTotal RewardsAt Monarch, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage, and retain top talent.
