Overview:The Assistant Merchant supports the product direction and performance of the Clare V. merchandise assortment. Assists in the coordination, execution and management of the activities in the Merchandising Department. We are seeking someone that is highly organized, detail oriented, and proactive.Position:Support Merchandise Operations-assist the Merchandise team with day-to day tasks, ensuring efficient execution of responsibilities. PO Management-oversee PO tasks, including creating, tracking, and monitoring warehouse ETAs to ensure timely deliveries. Style & Assortment Management-facilitate the creation and management of styles to align with the merchandising vision and product hierarchy. Third Party & Consignment Buys-collaborate with the planning and allocations team to provide detailed buy summaries, style details and assortment strategies for third party and consignment buys.Reporting & Calendar Management-assist in maintaining and updating weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports including delivery calendars and timely consignment reporting to outside vendors.Sales Analysis-evaluate in-season and post-season sales to identify actionable insights for future assortments, strategies, and merchandising decisions. Identify opportunities and risks in-season through analyzing sales performance with BuyerConduct cross-channel sales analysis to identify trends and provide recommendations for adjusting inventory distributions.Help compile and format recap reports to provide clear and concise summaries.Meeting Participation-attend relevant meetings, taking detailed notes, and clearly communicating action items to ensure accountability and clarity. Support the Merchant team during seasonal buy periods.Responsible for the eventual ownership and management of product categories within the Third Party & Consignment categories under the guidance of the Senior MerchantQualifications:1-2 years of experience in merchandisingbuyingplanning preferredEntrepreneur spiritNatural leader and problem solver with a growth mindsetExcellent communication and organizational skillsExcellent Excel skillsAbility to reprioritize projects frequentlyMust have the ability to multitaskIndependent, proactive, team playerAttention to detail: Ability to meticulously review data and documentation to ensure accuracy
