Job Title: Payroll ManagerLocation: Dallas, TXDepartment: Human ResourcesIndustry: ManufacturingJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all payroll activities for our manufacturing company based in Dallas, TX. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations while maintaining accurate records and fostering an environment of confidentiality and trust. This role will also require collaboration with HR and finance departments to align payroll operations with overall company objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Processing:Accurately manage and process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including hourly, salaried, and contract staff.Ensure proper calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions in compliance with legal requirements.Address and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely pliance:Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.Prepare and file payroll taxes, including quarterly and year-end filings (e.g., W-2s, 1099s).Ensure adherence to company policies and collective bargaining agreements, if applicable.Records Management:Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data integrity within payroll systems.Safeguard employee data and maintain strict confidentiality.Process Improvement:Evaluate current payroll systems and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.Collaborate with IT and HR teams to integrate new technologies or systems as needed.Employee Relations:Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees.Provide guidance and support for payroll issues, such as benefits deductions, tax withholdings, and timekeeping.Reporting:Generate and analyze payroll reports for management, including labor costs, tax filings, and compliance audits.Provide payroll data for budgeting and forecasting purposes.QualificationsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in the manufacturing industry.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is highly desirable.Skills:In-depth knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, or similar software).Strong understanding of labor laws and payroll tax regulations.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Preferred:Experience working with unionized employees or collective bargaining agreements.Familiarity with timekeeping systems specific to manufacturing environments.Key CompetenciesProblem-solving and decision-making skills.Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.Strong leadership and team management abilities.Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.Work EnvironmentThis role operates in a manufacturing environment, with occasional visits to production areas.Primarily office-based with standard working hours; occasional overtime may be required during payroll cycles.BenefitsCompetitive salaryHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development opportunities
