Vice President of Merchandising

Our client, a fashion retailer based in NYC, is seeking a VP of Merchandising to join their staff. Responsibilities:This person is going to develop the merchandising strategy, analyze market trends, and lead the process.They will collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure seamless execution of merchandising plans.Work closely with their retail back-office team in China communicating trends, products, styles, etc. to the team.They will partner with their wholesale partners to understand selling and use the findings for retail.The idea is to have this person own the merchandising for their retail business. There will be a link to both retail and wholesale. Role reports directly into the CEO1 direct report (director-level to start) and plan on building the team out to 2-3 peopleRequirements:Must have retail and wholesale experience.Must come from apparel.Creative mindset that s also flexible and adaptable to new ideas
