Job Title: Manager of Acoustic Engineering Job Location: Tempe, AZ (100% Onsite) Rockford Fosgate is looking for an experienced, passionate, hands-on Manager of Acoustic Engineering to lead our acoustic team. You will oversee all loudspeaker development and innovation initiatives to deliver best in class speaker and subwoofer products. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management Manage and oversee a team of design engineers, systems engineers, and technicians. Provide day-to-day guidance, support, and mentorship to team members. Ensure the team meets its performance, product, and project goals. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. Product Development Actively participate in the design, development, and production of loudspeaker products. Ensure products meet quality, performance, and cost targets. Provide hands-on technical support in simulation, modeling, design, and validation. Technical Expertise Apply strong technical knowledge and skills in acoustic engineering. Lead technical and product improvement initiatives. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies. Stakeholder Interaction Maintain high visibility and interaction with internal stakeholders. Provide direct support and guidance to external suppliers. Collaborate with external customers to ensure product success. Travel 20% domestic travel to support OE customer visits, industry trade shows and events, trainings, etc. 10% international travel to support supplier and partner visits, international trade shows and events, etc. Required Skills Qualifications Educational Background Bachelor's or Master's degree in Acoustics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Technical Skills Proficiency in designing and analyzing loudspeaker systems, including knowledge of sound propagation, vibration, and wave phenomena. Expertise in using acoustic simulation software such as COMSOL, ANSYS, or EASE for modeling and predicting acoustic behavior. Strong understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) techniques and their application in audio systems. Experience with acoustic measurement tools and techniques, including the use of microphones, anechoic chambers, and software like MATLAB for data analysis. Leadership and Project Management Experience in managing cross-functional teams to drive product development from concept to production. Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Industry Knowledge In-depth understanding of the loudspeaker market, including current trends, technologies, and competitive landscape. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to acoustic products. Communication and Collaboration Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to collaborate with other engineers, designers, and marketing teams to ensure the successful launch of products. Innovation and Problem-Solving Demonstrated ability to innovate and solve complex acoustic engineering problems. Experience in research and development to push the boundaries of current acoustic technologies.
