Our program has the only level 4 Epilepsy center in the state, a stroke center with Comprehensive Stroke Center designation by The Joint Commission and the American Stroke Association, a Parkinson s Foundation Center of Excellence, the first MDA Care Center established in the state by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), an ALS Association Certified Treatment Center of Excellence, and a recently renovated Memory Disorders Clinic supporting our newly formed multi-site South Carolina Alzheimer s clinical networkWe are seeking candidates with:Focus on collaboration, innovation, and teamworkExpertise in the specific areas of cognitive disordersBoard certification or eligibility in NeurologyFellowship in Behavioral Neurology or Neuropsychiatry, or general neurologist with significant experience with Alzheimer s disease and related disordersAcademic orientation and enthusiasm for teachingOur opportunity:100% outpatient cognitive and behavioral neurology position - inpatient coverage by NeurohospitalistsVery strong interdisciplinary specialty supportInvolvement in the teaching of medical students and neurology residentsOpportunity for involvement in the state supported Alzheimer s disease research center with many possibilities for collaboration university-wide, as well as senior investigators and PIs available for mentorshipsMinimal call only 1-2 nights per monthNewly renovated outpatient clinic: Henry and Mollie Fair Memory Disorders ClinicH1B and O1 Visa EligibilitySpecial interests fully supported with protected research timeAbout MUSC s Cognitive Neurology Program The South Carolina Alzheimer s Network (SCAN)The South Carolina Alzheimer s Network is a collaborative multi-site program within MUSC which ensures patients have access to an early and accurate diagnosis, comprehensive care plans designed through collaboration with primary care, new Alzheimer s disease medications, and research studies.
