Position Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Intellectual Property (IP) Legal Assistant to support our team in managing intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and domain names. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in an IP role within a law firm or corporate legal department and a strong understanding of U.S. IP practices and procedures.Key Responsibilities:Assist attorneys with the preparation, filing, and management of U.S. patent, trademark, and copyright applications.Monitor and maintain IP portfolios, including tracking deadlines and ensuring timely filings.Coordinate with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and other relevant authorities on IP matters.Conduct preliminary research and gather supporting documentation for IP filings and enforcement actions.Manage domain name registrations, renewals, and enforcement activities.Prepare correspondence to clients, foreign associates, and other parties regarding IP matters.Maintain and organize physical and electronic IP records and files.Assist with drafting and editing legal documents, including licensing agreements and cease-and-desist letters.Support attorneys in litigation and enforcement actions related to IP disputes.Qualifications:Previous experience in an intellectual property role within a law firm or corporate legal department managing IP tasks and filings is strongly preferred.Familiarity with U.S. patent, trademark, and copyright practices and procedures.Knowledge of domain name registration and enforcement processes is a plus.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and IP management software.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Skills:Experience with IP management software, such as Anaqua, CPI, or similar tools.Knowledge of international IP filing practices is a plus.Certification as a paralegal or legal assistant is desirable but not required.
