Information Technology Project Manager (ONSITE - Long-term Contract)Location: Glendale, AZ (Hybrid Remote)Contract: Expected to last 12 months with the possibility of extensionPay range: $65-$68 per hourJOB SUMMARY:Manages a portfolio of information technology projects of varying scope, size and complexity and provides technical expertise in support of projects.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Plans, organizes, and leads large scale andor complex technology projects composed of cross departmental and cross functional team members, in support of project requirements, deadlines and budget constraints; provides leadership and guidance to team members.Works directly with departments to understand and document project business requirements.Ensures projects are prioritized based on business needs and delivered on-time and within budget.Schedules resources across multiple projects based on priorities and urgency and acquires project management resources from outside the organization when justified.Prepares andor reviews detailed bid specifications and Requestsfor Proposals, contracts, Council Communications and change orders; evaluates bids and recommends the selection of vendors; participates in selecting contract employees;Provides or presents periodic project status updates as well as project team and budget activities to the stakeholders.Provides technical information, guidance, and support to all departments, management, leadership and employees as needed.Collaborates and integrates with vendor implementation teams to configure or customize software and resolve technical issues.Conducts project assessments to ensure designed results meet the organization's needs, goals and user requirements.Maintains a high level of current knowledge regarding systems, technology and communications.Performs other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSSPECIAL REQUIREMENTSSUCCESS FACTORS:Education:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, Project Management or related field and five years of work experience in computer systems analysis, design, programming and project management. 5+ years of IT Project Management experienceStrong experience managing projects for COTS software installationsPMP certification (Currently active or in process of achieving within 12 months)Knowledge of:Current industry trends and best practicesSystem development lifecycle used for the development of new systems and enhancements to existing information systemsProject Management principles, concepts and practices including application of project and program management tools and processes, resource allocation and project prioritization and staffingSystems analysis methods and techniques.Principles and practices of public administration, including budgeting and purchasingBasic knowledge of network infrastructureAbility to:Plan, organize, integrate, and manage systems installation, configuration and administrative projectsEstablish and maintain project schedulesIdentify information management issues and opportunitiesAnalyze problems and alternatives and develop sound conclusions and recommendation. Set priorities and allocate resources to most effectively meet needs in a timely manner.Prepare andor present clear, concise and accurate reportsCommunicate effectively orally and in writing with a good command of the English language Exercise sound independent judgmentEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management, employees, vendors, and others encountered in the course of the work.
