Metadata Coordinator**must be hybrid in Newark, NJ*Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Metadata Coordinator to manage, organize, and ensure the accuracy and consistency of metadata across various digital assets and information systems. This role involves coordinating metadata creation, updating, and quality control processes to ensure seamless data retrieval, storage, and management across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, an understanding of metadata standards, and a passion for maintaining high-quality information systemKey Responsibilities:Metadata Creation & Management: Create, maintain, and update metadata for digital assets (documents, images, videos, etc.), ensuring that all metadata fields are accurately populated and adhere to established standards.Quality Control: Perform regular checks to ensure the consistency and accuracy of metadata across systems, ensuring high-quality data is available for retrieval and analysis.Data Cataloging: Organize and categorize assets in digital repositories, ensuring they are tagged with appropriate and searchable metadata.Standard Compliance: Ensure that metadata follows established industry standards (e.g., Dublin Core, IPTC, MODS) and best practices, while also meeting organizational needs.Collaboration: Work closely with various departments (e.g., IT, library, content, and digital teams) to ensure the effective management of metadata across platforms.Data ImportExport: Oversee the importexport of metadata between various platforms, ensuring data integrity during these processes.Troubleshooting & Support: Address issues related to metadata in databases or digital systems, working with technical teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure data is easily searchable.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain documentation regarding metadata guidelines, standards, and workflows. Provide regular reports on metadata quality and progress on ongoing projects.Training & Support: Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on metadata entry, standards, and best practices.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Library Science, Computer Science, or related field.Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in metadata management, digital asset management, or related data management roles.Technical Skills: Proficiency in metadata standards (Dublin Core, IPTC, etc.), knowledge of content management systems (CMS), and familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) tools.Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail to ensure high-quality, accurate munication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze metadata-related issues and provide efficient solutions.Knowledge of Software: Familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets, or other spreadsheet tools; familiarity with programmingscripting languages (e.g., Python, XML) is a plus.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with automated metadata systems or AI-based metadata tools.Familiarity with database management and SQL.Knowledge of industry-specific metadata standards (e.g., publishing, media, or library sciences).
