We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic National Dam Engineering Practice Leader to spearhead and manage our dam engineering services across the nation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team, manage projects of all sizes, and collaborate with clients to develop innovative, safe, and sustainable dam solutions. As the National Dam Engineering Practice Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing technical leadership, strategic growth, business development, and project delivery within the dam engineering sector.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Strategy:Lead the national dam engineering practice by developing and executing strategic goals to grow the business. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.Project Oversight:Oversee the delivery of complex dam engineering projects, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to timelines and budgets. This includes dam design, rehabilitation, safety assessments, and regulatory compliance.Technical Expertise:Provide high-level technical guidance on the design, inspection, risk assessments, and maintenance of dams and related infrastructure. Serve as a subject matter expert for dam engineering, providing advice on innovative design approaches, materials, and technologies.Business Development:Drive business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, leading proposal efforts, and expanding relationships with current and potential clients. Enhance the firm's reputation through thought leadership, conferences, and industry publications.Team Leadership and Mentorship:Lead, mentor, and manage a national team of dam engineers and technical professionals. Foster a collaborative, high-performance work culture focused on continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development.Risk Management and Compliance:Ensure projects meet regulatory and environmental standards and manage risks associated with dam safety. Work closely with legal, environmental, and compliance teams to ensure full compliance with state and federal regulations.Financial Management:Oversee the financial performance of the practice, ensuring profitability and efficient project delivery. Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, budget performance, and overall practice dustry Leadership:Represent the company in national and regional dam engineering organizations, conferences, and committees. Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and emerging regulations related to dam engineering and safety.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or specialized certifications (e.g., PE, PMP) is highly desirable.LicensesCertifications:Professional Engineer (PE) license required; additional certifications or qualifications in dam engineering (e.g., Dam Safety Engineer) are a plus.Experience:A minimum of 15 years of experience in dam engineering or related infrastructure with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing teams and large projects. Extensive experience in dam design, safety assessments, rehabilitation, and risk management.Technical Expertise:Deep knowledge of dam design, structural integrity, geotechnical analysis, and hydrology. Experience with the latest dam technologies, software, and industry standards (e.g., ASCE, USBR).Leadership Skills:Proven ability to lead and mentor a diverse team of engineers and technical staff. Strong organizational and decision-making skills with a focus on achieving operational excellence.Business Development:Strong track record of business development, including developing and maintaining client relationships, leading proposals, and securing munication Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
