We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.As a Sr. Tool & Mold Maker, you will be trusted to support production operations by helping troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs to injection molds at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX!In this role, a typical day will include:Maintaining precision molds in a production environment.Evaluating and completing repairsmodifications and performing mold preventative maintenance.Collecting and documenting measurement results and generating reports.Performing routine operation of tool room equipment including, but not limited to manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, CNC and EDM machines.Disassembling, cleaning, repairing, and replacing defective parts in a variety of complex Molding Tools.Performing mold and tooling setups and repairs, verification of part quality and critical process parameters, mold evaluations and recommendation of repairsmodifications, basic machine and mold maintenance, and monitorverify daily production quantities and efficiencies in accordance with standard operating procedures.Evaluating new processes, components, products, and systems in conformance with engineering specifications.Testing, adjusting, and maintaining electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydro mechanical, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments.Setting up methods and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and requirements.Assigning and monitoring work for other technicians.Isolating problems for further analyses.What you'll bring to Alcon:High School Diploma or equivalentThe ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.2 Years of Relevant ExperienceWork Hours: Saturday - Tuesday; 4:00am - 2:30pm CSTTravel Requirements: 0 - 5%Relocation Assistance: NoneSponsorship Available: NoPreferred QualificationsSkills:Manufacturing toolroom experience within Medical Device IndustryUnderstanding of mold design, function, and applications.Ability to diagnose problems in a production environment to determine when mold repairs are needed.Working knowledge of fits, tolerances and allowable mold running parameters.Basic hot runner repair.Proficient in mold polishing.How You Can Thrive at Alcon:Join Alcon's mission to provide outstanding, innovative products and solutions to improve sight, improve lives, and grow your career!Collaborate with teammates to share standard processes and learnings as work evolves.See your career like never before with focused growth and development opportunities.Alcon provides robust benefits package including health, life, retirement, flexible time off, and much more!
