This individual will oversee the development and implementation of strategies to optimize operations, improve product offerings, and align with company goals. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Fresh Foods, this role will guide a dynamic team to ensure consistent execution of initiatives, adherence to food safety standards, and alignment with organizational values. A key responsibility will be developing innovative solutions to enhance customer satisfaction while maintaining operational efficiency.Essential duties include:Provide strategic direction for all Kitchen and Bakery operations across stores, ensuring adherence to company standards. Conduct regular evaluations of departmental performance, identifying opportunities for efficiency and innovation. Establish and maintain protocols for recipe adherence, food safety, and cleanliness. Develop and manage the department's budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service. Collaborate with the finance team to review and analyze profit and loss statements, labor expenses, and inventory costs. Create long-term strategies to drive revenue growth and improve gross margins through effective merchandising and product innovation.Lead efforts to enhance product offerings by researching and implementing new menu items and bakery products.Develop merchandising strategies to showcase products in a way that maximizes appeal and drives sales.Partner with the Marketing team to promote seasonal and specialty items. Oversee the Food Service Buyer and other department personnel.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the Food Service team. Lead training programs to develop skills across the department, focusing on operational excellence, customer engagement, and food safety. Maintain a customer-first mindset, ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.Regularly analyze customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure customer satisfaction.Collaborate with Store Directors, Field teams and department managers to address customer concerns effectively and proactively. Ensure all Kitchen and Bakery operations comply with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.Conduct regular audits to maintain high standards for cleanliness, food handling, and product quality.Implement quality control measures to minimize waste and shrink while maximizing freshness and consistency.Work closely with Operations, Marketing, and Procurement to streamline processes and ensure alignment with company goals.Participate in strategic planning meetings to integrate department initiatives with broader company objectives.Partner with the Loss Prevention and Risk Management teams to address operational challenges and mitigate risks.Other duties and responsibilities as required. Requirements:Bachelor's degree in business, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related field.Minimum 8 years in food service management; at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Proven experience in kitchen operations, bakery management, or related food production environment.Expertise in managing budgets, overseeing labor, and driving operational efficiencies.Highly proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel PowerPoint and email applications.Skilled in managing large-scale kitchen and bakery operations with expertise in food safety standards and compliance regulations.
