We are seeking a dedicated controls engineer to join our team here in Austin!Job Description: Architect and specify requirements for interfacing automation equipment"”conveyors, automated storage and retrieval systems, pick-and-place robots, automated guided vehicles"”with production workflowInterface with vendors and internal groups to understand, architect, specify, communicate, and execute required solutionsProactively engage with stakeholders to monitor, troubleshoot, and implement changes based on defined KPIsCommunicate engineering requirements to the necessary stakeholders"”external vendors and internal groupsArchitect, write, and debug PLC ladder logic and structured text with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable. PLC code will interact with subsystems such as conveyors, robots, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), LabView, machine vision, and third-party equipmentEstablish test plans and control test plan execution at vendors' sites and the company's facility during installation and buy-offIntroduce automated processes into production, and train Maintenance and Production teams to support them after deploymentEnforce the application of company standards and manage suppliers during specification, design review, design approval, installation, and commissioningCreate machine interactions with the plant-wide Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to communicate product acceptability, machine status, and process variablesGenerate aesthetically simple HMI screens for complex machinery while providing sufficient feedback for troubleshooting Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering, with a focus on material flow, supply chain, or process improvement (internships considered)Experience quantitatively solving ambiguous problems at a systems level to inform decision-makingExperience designing, installing and troubleshooting electrical cabinets, field wiring and pneumaticsExperience designing and validating safety concepts for automated machinery with PLC logic (Siemens andor SICK) Strong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in SEW software (MovisuiteMovitools) , Siemens software(TIA portal, SIMATIC) and EPLAN software.Experience in designimplementation of automated systems projects, using motion control with Siemens andor SEW products.
