We are one of the most experienced child-serving organizations in the Greater BaltimoreWashington region, expanding our national and international programs. Each year, we help thousands of youth and families succeed through various educational programs and services.We are currently seeking an experienced Elementary or Middle School Special Education Teacher to implement a therapeutically focused program that addresses students' academic and socialemotional needs. This role involves planning differentiated lessons, managing the classroom, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and tracking student progress.Candidates must meet essential duties and requirements, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. Join us in making a difference in children's lives!Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLesson plans are developed and implemented to address the students learning deficits to include accommodationsmodifications that are submitted to a supervisor weekly for review.Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and approaches to differentiate materials and reach all learners.Utilize data-driven practices through the use of formative and summative assessments to adjust instruction.Follow the school schedule for delivery of instructional services.Conduct classroom meetings at least weekly using the team primacy model.Follow state and local curriculum and instructional standards.Participate in school-based meetings and committees.Update the online grade book for students at least weekly.Record attendance daily in the online student management plete annual educational assessments for students and use the data to write their annual individualized education programs (IEPs).Meet required due dates for IEP documentation, including the development of the IEP, quarterly progress reports, eligibility data, etc.Participate in annual reviews, eligibility meetings, 3045 day reviews, and other requested IEP meetings.Classroom behaviors are addressed using a multi-tiered approach, including PBIS, restorative practices, zones of regulations, and the use of multi-sensory de-escalation rooms.Utilize a learning management system and other technology-based instructional resources to assist with delivering instruction and municate with parents regularly via phone, email, and in-person meetings.Participate in weekly professional development during Teacher Tuesday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, during half days on Wednesdays, and throughout the year on in-service days.Collaborate with other grade level or content teachers in professional learning communities.Participate in ongoing supervision through coaching cycles, informal walkthroughs, and the formal observation cycle.Manage classroom behaviors using positive behavior interventions and supports.Assume other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have any supervisory petenciesTo perform the job successfully, an individual will retain accountability for the following Key Result Areas (KRAs).Key Result Area #1: Planning and PreparationThe teacher demonstrates knowledge of content and pedagogy.The teacher demonstrates knowledge of the students.The teacher sets appropriate instructional outcomes.The teacher demonstrates knowledge of resources.The teacher designs coherent instruction.The teacher designs student assessments.Key Result Area #2: Classroom EnvironmentThe teacher creates an environment of respect and rapport.The teacher establishes a culture for learning.The teacher manages classroom procedures.The teacher manages student behaviors.The teacher organizes the physical space.Key Result Area #3: InstructionThe teacher communicates effectively with students.The teacher uses questioning and discussion techniques.The teacher engages students in learning.The teacher uses assessment in instruction.The teacher demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness.Key Result Area #4: Professional ResponsibilitiesThe teacher reflects on teaching.The teacher maintains accurate records.The teacher communicates with families.The teacher participates in the professional learning community.The teacher grows and develops professionally.The teacher shows professionalism.Certification and continuing education requirements are met through enrollment in courses and completion of assessment requirements.Develop an annual growth plan and appropriate action steps.Participate in and lead campus in-service training and agency in-service training.Key Result Area #5: Additional ExpectationsDemonstrated understanding of the philosophy and mission of The Children's Guild.Participate in school-based meetings and committees.Annual training required by the organization and regulatory bodies is completed.
