We are partnering with one of our clients in Plymouth, MN to fill a direct hire Building Management Systems Engineer role. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing advanced Smart Building control solutions. The person will be one of the key technical system engineers and will develop and document designs and partner with multiple departments to help get projects installed in the field. This role will include, but is not limited to, integrating disparate building control systems, leveraging strong HVAClighting and building automation system knowledge to develop ROI focused solutions for national accounts, and developing expertise in the existing business processes and tools.100% onsite in Plymouth, MNEssential Job Functions:Work with SBC Manager, Systems Engineering and other engineers on the SBC team to design and develop control systems for specific projectsDraft and develop technical requirements for SBC programs and projectsProgram BMS primary and field controllersDevelop and program BMS user interfacesMaintain a library of standards on behalf of national account customersPerform systems integrations using a wide variety of protocols including basic softwareEnsure technologies are integrated and technically compliant per applicable standardsCommunicate results to Controls Manager, Systems Engineering and othersWork collaboratively with a team of Controls personnelSet high standards that will align with the organization's goalsNavigate the Smart Building Industry trends and help position EMC to capitalize on themAssist internal and external IT networking teamsSkills and Abilities:An understanding of IT networks, systems, and protocolsTechnical proficiencies in AC electrical circuits and low voltage DC electrical circuits and operationAbility to read and interpret blue-prints, wiring diagrams and device data sheets, as well as, familiarity with creating technical shop drawings, including riser diagramsStrong communication, organization, and leadership skillsStrong technical and problem-solving abilitiesKnowledge of Industry best practicesSuperior knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Lighting and Hardware SystemsProgramming proficiency with Niagara based systems, including but not limited to N4Education:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering andor another related fieldExperience PreferredOther Qualifications:Experience with Niagara software and computer coding languages such as JavaScript, HTMLExperience with AutoCAD and other similar type programs used to create shop drawingsLED lighting, HVAC and building management system (BMS) operation5+ years of system engineer or system integrator with experience with at least one (1) controls platform5+ years in the building automation systems industry5+ years of HVAC AutomationControls Engineering or Data Analytics experienceExpertise leveraging IoT Concepts and Technology, Building Automation Systems, and Database programmingPhysical Job Requirements and Working Conditions:This position operates in a professional office environment and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 poundsMay need to climb stairs andor laddersMust be comfortable in both a customer site and office settingTravel up to 25% as needed
