Job DescriptionPosition: ControllerLocation: Minneapolis, MNType: Permanent Rate: $140k to 170kPASummary:We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee and execute financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. This position involves leading and supporting both operational and technical accounting deliverables for our North American business units. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounting updates and changes in the ERP system (JD Edwards), ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and delivering key controllership objectives. This role will focus on maintaining the control environment, overseeing month-end and quarter-end financial activities, and supporting the broader financial strategy of the business.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting & Compliance:Ensure the preparation and execution of monthly and quarterly financial results in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.Perform in-depth analytics on financial results to ensure accuracy and compliance.Execute complex accounting activities, including revenue recognition, project accounting, and other advanced general accounting functions.Oversee and support general ledger maintenance and related activities during the monthly and quarterly closing cycles.Conduct detailed reconciliations and balance sheet reviews, identifying any discrepancies or issues.Control & Oversight:Ensure that business unit controls are maintained and any issues are reported promptly.Lead efforts to ensure compliance with internal controls, focusing on action plans and resolving failures.Manage and oversee accounting activities performed by internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.ERP & Accounting System Management:Manage and maintain the ERP accounting system, ensuring updates and changes are efficiently executed and in line with business needs.Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that any necessary system enhancements or troubleshooting are addressed promptly.Collaboration & Reporting:Provide financial support to the business unit CFOs, ensuring that all financial reporting activities align with US GAAP and company policies.Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly disclosures and reporting.Support the Controller with key initiatives and special focus areas as required by the business.Required Qualifications:Proven experience in executing financial reporting, general accounting, and complex accounting activities, particularly in a corporate environment.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.Expertise in ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards), with the ability to manage updates and changes.Demonstrated ability to manage month-end and quarter-end closing processes.Excellent analytical skills, with a focus on reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and financial result analytics.Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and manage external partners.Ability to manage and assess control environments for business units.Purpose of the Role:The Controller will provide essential financial support to the North American business unit CFOs by overseeing accounting and financial reporting activities. This position will focus on ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, maintaining strong internal controls, managing the ERP system, and supporting key business initiatives.
