We're seeking a Development Producer to lead the ideation and development of short-form, social-first content. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating concepts that resonate with online audiences, crafting pitch materials, and working closely with internal teams to bring ideas to life. You'll have a keen understanding of platform-specific storytelling, audience behaviors, and the ever-evolving digital media landscape. This is a bargaining unit position covered by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with the Writers Guild of America, East.The purpose of this role is to build social series from the ground up, driving audience growth and engagement, delivering on NowThis' preeminent portfolio of brands in the forms of:Original social content for global digital platforms (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts), with focus on premium, scalable quality Social coverage on our video productions in New York Video franchises that transcend platforms and marketsThe Development Producer must be based in our New York City office and will report to the team's Executive Producer.WHAT YOU'LL DO:Develop and pitch short-form video concepts tailored to platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and SnapchatStay ahead of social media trends, incorporating viral formats and culturally relevant themes into pitchesCreate engaging pitch materials, including scripts, outlines, mood boards, and oversight on sizzle reelsWork closely with creators, editors, and social media managers to ensure concepts align with platform best practices and audience expectationsPartner with Integrated Marketing team when asked to concept ideas that fit client objectives while maintaining NowThis' creative integrityOversee the development process, managing timelines and resources to deliver projects on scheduleCollaborate with production teams to transition successful pitches & pilots into execution-ready projectsExperiment with new formats, tools, and trends to keep NowThis content fresh and engagingBring creative solutions to challenges, balancing speed and quality in a fast-paced environmentIdentify and pitch collaboration opportunities with creators, influencers, and other content partnersBuild and maintain relationships with a network of emerging creators and industry professionalsSUCCESS WILL LOOK LIKE:Development of innovative short-form concepts that achieve strong engagement metrics (views, likes, shares, comments)Consistently generating ideas that align with emerging trends and platform-specific storytelling techniques, ensuring NowThis remains culturally relevant and ahead of the curveEffective communication and collaboration with social media managers, editors, and branded content teams to align creative ideas with platform strategies and business goalsDelivery of compelling pitch materials that transition smoothly into production and produce highly engaging final products.Contributions that drive measurable growth in followers, reach, and engagement across NowThis's social platforms, ensuring a strong connection with target audiencesMUST HAVES:3+ years of experience in short-form video development, digital production, or social-first content creationProven success in pitching and creating content that performs well across social platformsStrong storytelling and scriptwriting abilities for short-form formatsExpertise in creating pitch decks, sizzle reels, and visual presentationsDeep understanding of platform-specific best practices and audience engagement strategiesCreative and trend-savvy, with a knack for understanding what works on social mediaHighly collaborative, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environmentPassionate about digital culture, entertainment, and emerging trendsNICE TO HAVES:Proficiency in video editing and graphic design tools like Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, or similar software.Ability to film and run audio utilizing Sony cameras and Rode microphones How To ApplyTo be considered for this role, please submit your resume and a cover letter.
