Controls Engineer 12+ Months with open for extension Alpharetta, GA Why this Role?This role offers engineering project leadership on a diverse product line. From Hardware design, through software design, to testing and validation, the controls engineer is responsible to drive the project to completion and meet customer expectations. There is always something new to learn, interesting projects to work on, and a supportive team to overcome obstacles. Typical task breakdown:Execute and support the design, test, manufacture, and commissioning of low and medium voltage switchgear that controls multiple generators which parallel to one or more utility sourcesProvide direction to CAD designers to create wiring and assembly drawings for generator paralleling switchgear controlsInteract with internal and external customers, accomplishing project milestonesCreate bill of materials for generator paralleling switchgear controls in ERP systemCreate PLC programs for control of generator paralleling switchgear Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred5-7 years experience required.Willing to take Masters with 3+ years experienceWilling to take 2 year degree with 7+ years experienceInternships etc will be counted towards experienceTechnical Skills (Required)Ability to create PLC programs using one of the IEC 61131 PLC Programming languages i.e. Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text or any other PLC programming languageDesign, test, and commission control systems. i.e. systems with different PLC controllers in the same system, experience interfacing, designing controls with different manufacturersDevelop control software utilizing various PLC platforms. Expert knowledge on at least one of the following PLC platforms.
