Position: Project Traffic EngineerLocation: Chicago, ILDuration: PermanentSalary: $100,000-140,000Must haves:Bachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringPossess valid Professional Engineer licensure3+ years of experience in road, intersection, and traffic signal designAbility to effectively manage multiple clients and projects and to develop and manage project budgetsExperience with HCS, SYNCHRO, and the MUTCD is requiredAbility to coach and assist with the management of staffDay to day:Coordinate and perform the planning and permitting of traffictransportation engineering, land development, and infrastructure projectsManage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines.Prepare progress reports and draft change orders.Prepare draft invoices, project billings, and assist in payment collectionsCoordinate and work with staff to determine the feasibility of projects based on the analysis of preliminary data and to prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, and design for projectsEffectively organize, write, and edit draft proposals, reports, and other documentsParticipate in the identification and pursuit of new clients, learn to develop additional work within an existing project, and attend business development meetings with new and existing clientsProvide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignmentsCoach, train, and motivate staff assigned to TrafficTransportation projects.Participate in interviewing and hiring staff; Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and other office locationsdisciplines. Actively participate in internal and external technical presentations and produce written articles for internal and external publicationsPerform other duties as requested.
