Location: Hybrid, onsite - Plano TX or NJWe are seeking a Configuration Engineer to join our team, responsible for configuring and managing Continuous IntegrationContinuous Deployment (CICD) pipelines and providing Horizon user support. This role combines expertise in DevOps pipeline configuration, automation, and troubleshooting with a strong focus on ensuring a seamless user experience for Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) users. You will work closely with development teams to streamline deployment processes while also providing user support for Horizon environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CICD tools, strong troubleshooting skills, and a solid understanding of Horizon VDI, enabling them to configure, support, and maintain both CICD pipeline systems and Horizon user environments. Key Responsibilities: CICD Pipeline Configuration:Pipeline Setup & Maintenance: Design, configure, and maintain CICD pipelines for application development, testing, and deployment using industry-standard tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Azure DevOps, etc.).Automation & Scripting: Automate and optimize the deployment and testing processes for faster and more reliable software delivery. Use scripting languages (Bash, Python, Groovy, etc.) to build automation workflows.Version Control Integration: Integrate version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket) with CICD pipelines to ensure efficient code flow and deployment.Environment Configuration: Set up and manage different environments (development, staging, production) to ensure smooth and error-free deployments.Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues related to builds, deployments, and test environments. Provide insights and reports on pipeline efficiency and success rates.Horizon User Support:Horizon Environment Configuration: Configure and optimize VMware Horizon VDI environments for both internal and external users, ensuring optimal performance, security, and usability.User Access & Troubleshooting: Provide user support and troubleshooting for Horizon environments, resolving issues related to virtual desktops, applications, connectivity, and performance.VDI Customization: Configure and maintain user profiles, application delivery, and policies for Horizon virtual desktops to improve user experience and system efficiency.Collaboration with IT Support: Work closely with IT operations and desktop support teams to resolve complex user issues in the Horizon environment and enhance user satisfaction.Documentation & Knowledge Base: Create and maintain user guides, troubleshooting manuals, and knowledge base articles for Horizon user support, ensuring that users can quickly find solutions to common problems.Collaboration & Communication:Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with development, DevOps, and IT support teams to ensure seamless integration between CICD pipelines and Horizon environments, ensuring that both systems support agile workflows and user needs.Training & Best Practices: Provide training and guidance on CICD pipeline best practices and Horizon usage to both technical and non-technical cident Management: Assist in the identification and resolution of critical incidents in CICD pipelines or Horizon user environments, contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement. Experience:3+ years of experience in configuring, managing, and supporting CICD pipelines andor VMware Horizon environments.Strong hands-on experience with CICD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, or Azure DevOps.Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Groovy, PowerShell).Familiarity with VMware Horizon or other virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions.Experience troubleshooting user access, connectivity, and performance issues in Horizon or similar VDI platforms.Experience in agile environments with a focus on automation and continuous delivery.Technical Skills:CICD Tools: Hands-on experience with CICD pipeline management tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, CircleCI, and Azure DevOps.Version Control: Proficiency in version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.AutomationScripting: Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, Groovy, or PowerShell for automation of deployment and support tasks.Virtualization & VDI: Experience with VMware Horizon, Citrix, or similar virtual desktop environments.Operating Systems: Knowledge of both Linux and Windows server environments.Cloud & Infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:Strong troubleshooting abilities for both CICD pipeline issues and Horizon user support problems.Ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues under tight munication Skills:Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical teams.Ability to document and explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.Preferred Qualifications:VMware Horizon certification or other relevant VDI certifications.Experience with containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios.Experience in cloud-native CICD pipeline configuration and cloud infrastructure management.Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
