Director IT Digital CommerceWhat Will You Do?We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Director of Engineering - Digital to lead the delivery and strategy for , our consumer-facing mobile application, and play a key role in shaping our omnichannel strategy. This role will focus on engineering and delivering exceptional experience layers across all customer and associate touchpoints. The Director of Engineering - Digital reports to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Retail Technology.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & StrategyCollaborate on and implement a comprehensive omnichannel strategy across all customer and associate touchpoints, including the standalone website, mobile application, clientelling application within stores, point of sale systems, and customer service support tools.Provide technical leadership to cross-functional engineering teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and a culture of excellence.Set clear goals, establish KPIs, and drive continuous improvement to measure success.Engineering ExcellenceOversee the engineering and delivery of and the consumer-facing mobile application, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.Lead the technical design, development, and deployment of customer experience layers across various platforms, championing best practices and efficient solutions.Embrace agile methodologies and invest in dual-track Agile Delivery models to enhance customer experiences and optimize delivery processes.Team DevelopmentBuild and mentor a high-performing engineering team, ensuring that engineers are directly aligned with key delivery areas and skillsets, fostering a collaborative environment with deep subject matter expertise.Identify and develop future leaders within the team, providing growth opportunities and a clear career path.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with key stakeholders, including product management, UX design, and customer operations, to align engineering initiatives with business objectives and drive strategic alignment.Collaborate closely with the Agile Delivery team to identify and address bottlenecks, constantly seeking improvements in delivery processes and cross-functional communication.Technology ManagementStay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to continuously improve our digital experiences and maintain our competitive edge.Ensure scalability and maintainability of solutions, leveraging global talent strategically to optimize costs and resource allocation.Be a champion for technical innovation, driving initiatives that enhance the overall customer experience and create a seamless and engaging omnichannel journey.Job Qualifications10+ years' experience of developing world-class customer-facing experiences having more than 100M sessions annually.7+ years leading and managing large cross-functional delivery teams.Strong working knowledge of modern web technologies, including modern JavaScript frameworks (such as React, Angular, or Vue.js), design systems, and content delivery networks (CDNs).Demonstrated expertise in CICD methodologies utilizing Kubernetes to automate and optimize deployment pipelines.Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role within a large, customer-facing organization.Demonstrated success in developing and executing omnichannel strategies.Extensive experience with digital platforms, including websites, mobile applications, and point of sale systems.Strong knowledge of agile methodologies and experience driving agile transformations.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across cross-functional teams.Deep understanding of customer experience, with a track record of delivering high-quality, user-centric solutions.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Technical expertise, ideally with a background in engineering or computer science.Who Are We?At Ashley, we're more than a business...we're family.
