Looking for: Staff Care Manager Social Worker SuperheroWork in an amazing environment, spend time outdoors and make a real difference in the lives of college age leaders! Join a dynamic forward thinking overnight camp team as the Staff Care Manager, in tandem with the Director, and leadership team. We are currently looking for a candidate to join our Community Care team. This person will be responsible for working on mental, emotional, and social health issues with our incredible staff. The Staff Care Manager is expected to provide our community with meaningful guidance to make healthy, responsible, and respectful choices. The Staff Care Manager embodies Sprout Camp's core values in their interactions and decisions regarding community care and is a positive, contributing member of the summer leadership team. The Staff Care Manager is expected to create strong relationships with the camp community and exhibit excellent communication skills.This position requires a person with a variety of skills and the ability to transition from one situation to another quickly and intuitively while also showing compassion and empathy for campers and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves a challenge, an environment that is constantly changing, and working with college age population. Camp is a magical place, and our staff are the people that make it happen. This person will support these very special people.Responsibilities include but not limited to:1. Serve as the lead professional in determining appropriate responses to all issues related to social, emotional, and mental health, safety, and well-being of staff2. Serve as a positive role model in the camp community and represent camp values3. Participate in required supervisor and staff training prior to camp4. Communicate with Director, Assistant Director, and Infirmary to monitor and support the physical, social, and emotional health, safety, and well-being of staff5. Assist with challenging staff situations and provide ongoing support to respond to staff's behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs6. Consult with Director and Assistant Director about significant concerns and issues that arise to determine appropriate response for staff7. Observe and document staff situationsincidents, design behavior intervention andor management plans, and monitor and report on progress8. Facilitate group cohort sessions for all staff, creating a supportive environment to help staff navigate difficult situations and promote further learning9. Perform other related duties as assigned by Camp DirectorMinimum Qualifications:Master's DegreeLicense in Social Work or Counseling or Psychology or Mental Health or Similar Fields preferred. *Consideration will be given to candidates currently in master's degree programs.Previous experiences in a camp, school or similar environment preferredExperience with teenager and adult mental, social, and emotional healthMust be able to think critically and act swiftly in high stress situationsAttention to detail in documentation and maintaining recordsMust possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfort in communicating with teenagers and adultsMust be caring, empathetic, patient, hardworking, and diligent professional who takes initiative and is creative, enthusiastic, and open-minded.
