We are seeking a highly skilled senior civil engineer with a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to lead and support the firm's sanitary sewer design, drainage, and land development efforts. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in civil engineering principles, team leadership, client relationship management, and oversight of infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, on-site, permanent position located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Lead feasibility studies and site investigations, assessing project requirements, constraints, and innovative solutionsOversee and guide the development of engineering designs, calculations, and drawings for sanitary sewer systems, water drainage, and land development projectsManage project teams, ensuring efficient coordination with architects, surveyors, contractors, and regulatory agencies to meet project objectivesProvide advanced analysis to optimize storm water management systems and mitigate risks across projectsDevelop, review, and approve construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex civil engineering projectsEnsure compliance with local codes, zoning regulations, and environmental requirements through in-depth regulatory reviewsConduct and oversee site inspections, offering technical support during construction and resolving complex engineering challengesUtilize Civil 3D software and other advanced engineering tools to create detailed models, generate profiles, and perform earthwork calculationsLead project meetings, deliver presentations, and maintain strong client relationships through clear and proactive communicationDevelop and manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectationsStay current on emerging civil engineering technologies and best practices to enhance project outcomesMinimum qualifications and expectations include:· Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field· Professional Engineer (PE) license· Minimum of five to seven years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on sanitary sewer design, drainage, and land development· Proven experience in project management and team leadership in a technical environment· Proficiency in using Civil 3D software for design, drafting, and modeling· Strong understanding of hydraulic and hydrological principles related to water management· Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing civil engineering projects· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines· Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey project updates, risks, and strategies to diverse stakeholders· Proficient in project management software and tools· Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles and practices
