An exciting role exists for a Mechatronics engineer, specializing in embedded control systems within the Powered Vehicles Group (PVG) Advanced Development Team at FOX. The Advanced Development Team creates, develops and implements new technologies for a range of FOX markets including automobiles, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and future transportation modes. As a result, the Advance Development Team works collaboratively with all PVG business groups.The candidate will be instrumental in the development of innovative concepts and next generation IP. As part of a small team, he or she must be a creative, forward thinker that can work well with others and is dedicated to advancing the technological capabilities of FOX. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electromechanical componentsystem design and development with good knowledge of embedded control systems. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing complex mechatronic systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components. The successful candidate will lead projects and contribute to innovative solutions that enhance product performance and brand value.Required Experience:BS or master's in electricalmechatronicsmechanical engineering or physics, master's degree preferred Minimum 5 years as an engineer in automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, or equivalent industryExperience proto-typing electromechanical systems and embedded controls applicationsExperience developingdesigning electromechanical components & systemsExperience bringing up and debugging PCBAs & electrical systemsExperience with control system development Preferred Qualifications:Experience familiarity with any of the following is preferred:Hands-on experience with electronics hardware prototyping, testing, and debuggingStrong understanding of embedded system architectures, digital signal processing, and systems integrationImplementation of sensors and data acquisition systemsElectromechanical valves, actuators and other componentsPCB circuit design and bring upAutomotive chassis systemsAutomotive network communication protocols (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, PSI5 and others)Familiarity with software tools such as MATLABSimulinkFamiliarity with programming languages such as C, PythonFamiliarity with CAD programs such as CreoKey Responsibilities include but not limited to:Designbuild prototypes and proof of concept technology demonstratorsDevelopingdesigningimplementing electromechanical systems Control system developmentElectromechanical component & system design and implementationUtilizing data acquisition systems, signal processing and analysis to verify system or component performanceProvide technical support for system integration and implementationCreate documentation for design specifications, test procedures, and user manualsPropose and implement innovative solutions to enhance FOX productsCompetencies:Customer Mindset: Exceptional customer experience is the primary focus while performing job duties. Willingness to work with others and coachteach in effort to support other employees' development. #PVGKey Responsibilities:Design and Development: Lead the design and development of electromechanical components and systems, including motors, actuators, sensors, and control systems. Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create detailed models and prototypes.Embedded Control Systems: Develop, implement, and test embedded control systems for various applications. Write and optimize code for microcontrollers and digital signal processors. Ensure software integrates seamlessly with hardware components.Project Management: Oversee and manage engineering projects from concept through to production. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and manufacturing to ensure project milestones and objectives are met.Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of mechatronic systems to ensure they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards. Analyze test results and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support for system integration and troubleshooting. Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and control systems.Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for design specifications, test procedures, and user manuals. Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and company novation and Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in mechatronics. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance product functionality and efficiency.Mentorship: Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians. Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the engineering team.
