The SQM is also responsible for the Day-to-day tasks and improvements needed to continually drive the quality culture and improvements necessary to provide a product that satisfies all requirements needed by our customers.Additionally, the SQM is responsible for coaching and training employees, developing corrective actions to proactively address areas of concern, and needed improvements.The SQM will work directly with the Plant Manager and Operations Manager to ensure adherence to established processes and procedures as well as any new initiatives.Essential Job Functions:Oversee GMP Certification process and Audit.Strictly adhere to GMP and safety requirements.Address key issues and concerns by interacting with employees from other departments to ensure the production of a quality product.Ensure Quality expectations are followed and met daily.Must possess problem solvingroot cause analysis skills; leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate teams to exceed expectation; communication, planning and organization skills; sense of urgency and accountability; customer focus; ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environment.Facilitate meetings with other departments to ensure Quality and Continuous Improvements are a daily plete various quality parameters to evaluate new items.Be present at all critical item runs and be aware of the issue.Provide support for HACCP program.Review all customer complaints by personally reviewing at the machine with the specific machine operator and supervisor; obtain Root Cause and Corrective ActionInspect and observes all Top 10 Customer manufacturing runs.Collect data and ensure timely and accurate reports are prepared.Assist Design and Pre-press when new testing is required.Traceability & Recall ProgramDocumentation and Record KeepingAllergen Awareness Management ProgramCorrective Action ProgramEnsure correctivepreventive actions are implemented for internal and external customer complaintsUpdate and maintain Quality manualUpdate and maintain Quality SOP programEnsure policy and procedure compliance across all departments for SOPsHealth and Safety FunctionsWork for Hearing Conservation and Schedule Audiometric TestingInvestigate, Monitor, and Communicate Accident Investigation FindingsLead the Safety Committee and Track Progress of Work OrdersMaintain and Monitor Plant FireAlarm System FunctionsPerform Fire Pump testsMonitor and Respond to Panel AlarmsSchedule Inspections and RepairsPerform Monthly Guarding ReportConduct and Communicate Job Hazard AnalysisPerform Plant Safety Compliance AuditsMaintain and Monitor Plant Fire Extinguisher Inspections and PlacementSchedule and Monitor Company Fire DrillsAdditional Responsibilities DutiesConduct hazard evaluations of jobs and process and perform routine inspections of facilities and operations for unsafe conditions and work practices and make recommendations to reduceeliminate incident occurrence.Perform safety compliance audits to identify problem areas and provide recommendations for corrective actions as needed. This includes compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Follow up using good management techniques to ensure problems are resolved.Manage the incident investigation process, monitor, and distribute information as necessary.Coordinate activities of all outside agencies that impact safety. Maintain good working relationships with all agencies and follow up as needed on recommendations andor citations.Plan, schedule, coordinate andor conduct EHS training programs for employees and contractors such as HAZCOM, blood borne pathogens, fire protection, DOT requirements, etc.Assist in managing and maintaining day-to-day EHS programs, including new hire orientation, PPE requirements, etc.Perform ergonomic risk assessments of workplaceworkstations, recommending corrective action to reduceeliminate hazards.Participate, manage, and provide support for site safety committees and safety related events.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:5 to 10 years of safety and quality experienceCorrugated manufacturing experience preferredA valid, current driver's license is required.Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with contractors, service techs (onsitephone support), and fellow employeesAbility to work additional hours and weekends as necessary to meet business plan objectivesProficient use of Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plusOSHA 30-hour certification preferredForklift High Lift trainer certified preferredUST Class AB operator trainingcertificate preferredContinuing educationyearly safety training required (Raffles, OSHA, etc)
