The candidate is expected to have the following:·       GIA graduate gemologist, FGA, or similar credentials·       Good color analytical ability·       5+ years gemmological experience related to colored stones·       Experience in gemstone identification, origin determination, and treatment disclosure·       Experience with gemological testing equipment and analyzing spectra from:FTIRUV-VISXRF·       Experience working with microscope and camera to take gemological inclusion photosResponsibilitiesEvaluate colored gemstones, and work to determine their origin and treatmentEvaluate colored gemstones for trade colors and various quality characteristicsOperate XRF, UV-VIS and FTIR machines in the testing of gemstonesOrganize workflow of gemstones throughout the laboratoryTravel to trade shows and for training domestically and internationallyCandidates must have authorization to work in the USA, and be willing to submit to a background check.We offer comprehensive healthcare, IRA contribution matching, and above average vacation time.
