The Licensed HVAC Technician will participate in preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, as well as installation and inspection of, HVAC systems and associated processes. Additionally, they will oversee related site responsibilities thru regular communication with the Chief Lead Engineer to ensure scheduled maintenance and safety protocols are performed.Essential Functions:Perform HVAC preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance procedures, daily checks, and inspectionsAct as a team leader when executing HVAC maintenance while working safely and with the objective of maintaining a best in class product; ensure all site safety work permits as defined within the Safety Program and the work orders are acknowledged and adhered toCoordinate between HVAC Lead and other Maintenance Teams in the execution of HVAC related workExecute HVAC activities in accordance with work order schedule, or as directed by the schedulerplanner, and HVAC Lead; attend all internal coordination meetings with Chief Engineer and the HVAC LeadCoordinate equipment and specialty material deliveries and staging requirementsAssist with coordinating scheduled shut-downs as required to support any associated on-site operational requirements; follows work completion and punch lists in accordance with established Quality Control and Quality Assurance ProgramsEnsure field installation compliance with all technical specifications and work ordersDirect helpers or apprentices in appropriate tasksPerform extensive troubleshooting of all site-wide HVAC and associated Process Equipment, Plant Utility and Facility Applicable inventory to include Refrigeration Systems, Air Handlers, Supply Air Systems, Exhaust Systems, Cooling and Heating CoilsSite specialist for Building Automation System (BAS)Analyze problems and identify corrective measuresFrequently checking blueprints and building docsObtain supplies and spare parts, understanding repair manuals and parts catalogsReview specifications, conduct site inspections, review system design and drawingsConduct start-up and participate in the commissioning of HVAC & BAS systemsMust maintain strict adherence to safety rules and qualityParticipate in site housekeeping; completes work in accordance with Company Business Systems Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions; create and maintain all operational SOPs for site specific equipment and systemsRequirements and Qualifications:MUST possess a current HVAC License - MA or RI5+ years as an HVAC Mechanic Technician within a commercial industrial facility, preferably in a Biotech, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Laboratory or similar working environment, with a high school diploma or GEDWork and influence apprentice technicians to promote and move forward towards licensingAbility to work independently or as part of a team, with client personnel and company staff, as well as communicate with multiple disciplines - both technical and non-technicalKnowledge of cooling tower water chemistry and control systems and advanced knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systemsKnowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) - Metasys, etc.Knowledge of GxP industry requirementsProficient in central plant record keeping, data analysis and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)Familiar with MS Office Suite in order to prepare reports, format spread sheets and communicates by emailCompetency in Permit Requiring Confined SpaceBe highly focused on customer satisfaction expectationsGood documentation and record keepingUnderstanding of and strict adherence to daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)OSHA 10 certificationMust have the ability to read and interpret detailed plans, specifications, operating manuals and other written materials associated with this trade.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels (coworkers, subordinates, clients, management, etc.).Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds
