Structural EngineerBillerica, MADirectPerform typical structural analysis and design relative to buildings. Interact and work with architects, designers, and engineers for residential and commercial projects. Projects vary from new to existing structures. Projects include tenant fit-up, residential renovations & additions, commercial projects, restaurants and multi-level structures.Job Responsibilities:Compiling construction documents, site investigations, field measurements, analysis and design of building structuresDesign of aluminum, light gauge metal framing, reinforced concrete and masonry, structural steel, and woodUtilizing building codes and standard reference materials for commercial and residential structuresPreparing professional reports, construction documents, and lettersAbility to work under minimal supervision and still meet deadlines and budgetProduction of sections, details and specifications; using the software of RevitProduction of official and unofficial sketches to modify portions of the structural packageEstimate schematic designs of structures (columns, footings, and shear wall placing)Review of construction documents (columnsshear wallsslabfoundation reinforcement, elevator system, concrete mix designs, and shop drawings)Assisting site inspections (concrete pours, formwork placement, foundation layout, slab and column reinforcement placement)Attend coordination meetings with the projects team (owner, developer, architect, electrical engineer, and mechanical engineer)Manage and modify submissions of projects (foundations, bulletins, and issue for construction)Perform structural design, prepare engineering calculations and structural modeling for commercial, residential, and government buildingsProvide technical or operational guidance to graduate and junior engineersParticipate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverablesPerform quality control review of design calculations or drawingsPrepare technical specification sectionsCoordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as neededTravel to project sites and meetings as neededRequired Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering3 to 5 years of work experience in structural engineering and building designEIT Certification requiredDesired SkillsQualifications:Master's Degree in Structural EngineeringProfessional licensure is desired but not requiredExperience using AutoCAD & Revit software.Analysis software experience with Tekla, Tedds, RAM, and RISA 3DTroubleshooting mentalityKnowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7 and other industry relevant design code and standardsKnowledge and application of Building CodeProficiency with MS Office suite softwareAbility to travel to various clients' sites for this role is estimated at 10% to 20%
