Job Title: Chemical Compliance SpecialistDepartment: Legal and Compliance DivisionReports to: Director of Legal and ComplianceClassification: Full-time, ExemptPeople Manager: NoLocation: San Jose, CA Austin, TX Wixom, MIWorkstyle: Hybrid (2-3 daysweek in the office)Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 (depends on location)General Summary ObjectiveA leading global organization specializing in advanced materials and technologies is seeking an ambitious and motivated professional to lead a newly created chemical compliance role. This position requires diverse experience in chemical compliance, strong communication skills, and the ability to develop robust company policies and procedures while ensuring timely fulfillment of chemical reporting requirements for U.S. government agencies. The ideal candidate can work autonomously and collaborate effectively across diverse teams and cultures.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPolicy Development and ImplementationDevelop, implement, and maintain chemical compliance policies and procedures for the North American (N.A.) region, covering the United States and Mexico.Ensure compliance with regulations such as TSCA, California Prop 65, PFAS, HFC, and others related to the organization's products.Regulatory Reporting and DocumentationPrepare and manage regulatory reports (e.g., CDR, PFAS, HFC) to ensure accurate and timely submissions.Collaborate with key business units and production sites to collect necessary information.Verify and manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all products.Oversee the Chemtrec Account to maintain compliance.Stakeholder CommunicationLiaise with external stakeholders, including international business units, North American production sites, regulatory agencies, and consultants.Address regulatory inquiries and concerns related to products sold or manufactured in North pliance AssessmentsWork with Sales Divisions and North American group companies to assess new products, reformulated products, and new industry regulations.Ensure compliance with U.S., Mexican, and global regulations.Process ImprovementIdentify and implement process improvements to optimize compliance workflows.Build awareness of policies and procedures within the chemical compliance function.Necessary QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Material Science, Engineering, or a related field.Candidates with alternate degrees may be considered if they have significant applicable experience.Experience3-5 years of proven experience in a chemical compliance or similar role (5-7 years preferred).Demonstrated success in:Developing and implementing chemical compliance policies and procedures.Preparing and managing regulatory reports (e.g., CDR, PFAS, HFC).Managing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and compliance accounts such as Chemtrec.Regulatory KnowledgeStrong understanding of chemical compliance regulations, including:TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act)California Proposition 65PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances)HFC (Hydrofluorocarbons) and similar regulations.Skills and AbilitiesAnalytical and TechnicalAbility to assess and interpret complex regulatory and technical information.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving munication and CollaborationStrong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams, including international stakeholders, government agencies, and consultants.Time and Project ManagementExceptional time management skills to handle multiple deadlines.Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement effective solutions.Software ProficiencyFamiliarity with compliance-related software tools is advantageous.Additional RequirementsWillingness to travel 5%-10% of the time as needed.Ability to work in a hybrid model (2-3 daysweek in the office).To apply, please send resume to
