OEwaves is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support production of Opto-Electronic products and the development of new technologies. Job Description:The Electrical Engineer will be part of a team assisting the development and productization of photonic and microwave-photonic products and systems, including lasers and photonic microwave-mmW photonic sources that are part of a growing trend in next generation classical and quantum generation sensors and advanced communication applications. This role will support both the production of existing products as well as the research and development of new products. The Electrical Engineer will work with the production team to ensure product quality, the engineering team to develop control algorithms, and the product and marketing teams to plan improvements to the customer experience. Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Design, including part selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout, for new electronic hardware for the control of opto-electronic systemsInterface with vendors for procurement of control electronicsTest and bring-up new hardwarePerform quality control testing on production circuitryPerform root cause analysis and corrective actions on failed components and productsSet-up and run benchtop prototyping and breadboarding of new designsDevelop and maintain interface control diagrams and documentation SkillsExperience Requirements:M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field; or B.S. in the above fields with 5 years of experienceStrong communication and teamwork skillsLow-noise analog circuit designDigital circuit designSchematic capturePCB layout, such as Altium or similarExperience with laboratory equipment including VNA, signal generators, spectrum analyzersBasic MS Office experienceUS Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or eligibility for Permanent Residency is requiredPreference will be given to candidates with experience with the following:RFMicrowave circuit design and analysisMixed signal designEmbedded systemsLaser and temperature controller circuit designSignal processing methodsMicroprocessor (embedded C, C++) andor FPGA programming (VHDL, Verilog)Radiation-hardspace-qualified circuit design
