The CI platform team within the Developer Platforms and Experience (DPX) org is responsible for providing an automated, instantaneous, efficient, and delightful software delivery pipeline that is used by LinkedIn developers every day. Developer Platforms and Experiences (DPX) organization helps accelerate R&D velocity and drive product innovation. Our vision for DPX is to create capabilities that drastically reduce the iteration time for new features while dramatically increasing the stability and quality of all software at LinkedIn. At the core of this vision is our unwavering commitment to enhancing the developer experience. We automate everything from developing and shipping quality code, dynamically scheduling computing resources, and deploying our code to those resources within LinkedIn world class data centers that power LinkedIn services. This team specifically owns LinkedIn's CI infrastructure, which we are in the process of migrating from our in-house infrastructure to GitHub Actions. This team also owns LinkedIn's current Microrepo infrastructure, which is undergoing a redesign to move closer to a monorepo-like structure. As a result, we will need to redesign our core engineering system to support the repo structure we envision. This leadership role is part of the CI Platform team in Developer Platforms and Experiences (DPX) organization where you will get an opportunity to influence, transform, and create an amazing experience for developers at LinkedIn. You will identify, develop, and lead strategic investments to make development iterations faster and make step function improvements in the lives of developers. This spans multiple areas including but not limited to: - Providing tools and infrastructure that creates delightful development experience - Provide and support application frameworks that empower LinkedIn Engineers to build member facing products - Provide actionable insights that leverages data and metrics - Provide tools and data that help LinkedIn teams listen to their customers; and most importantly deliver reliable and scalable infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to engage the industry-wide developer community and contribute to open-source software as well. Responsibilities: - You will build and mentor an engineering team that provides Microservice and CI infrastructure and tools that enable all LinkedIn developers to build services for LinkedIn members - You will work across Engineering to build relationships with other teams and use their feedback and understand their goals to build and prioritize a roadmap for your team - You will own the design, development, testing, deployment and craftsmanship of your team's infrastructure and systems capable of handling massive amounts of requests with high reliability and scalability - You will leverage your deep and broad technical expertise to mentor engineers and provide leadership on resolving complex technology issues Basic Qualifications: - BABS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. - 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training - 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering - Experience programming in object-oriented andor functional programming languages (like JavaPythonCC++Scalaetc.) Preferred Qualifications: - MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline - 2+ years of hands-on software engineeringtechnical management and people management experience - 7+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions. - 5+ years programming experience in languages such as Java, CC++, C#, Python, Go, etc. - Experience with developing Developer tools and infrastructure, including development and code collaboration environments, CICD pipelines and measuring software development productivity and quality. - Been actively involved in creation and execution of technical strategy and roadmap - Experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale systems - Shipped several large-scale projects with multiple dependencies across teams - Actively coached and mentored team members in their careers - Track record in partnering with recruiting to build incredible engineering teams - Experience with Microservice or Monorepos - Experience managing hybrid teams across US time zones Suggested Skills: - CICD Expertise - Experience working within Dev Prod space - Software DesignCross-organizational collaboration You will Benefit from our Culture We strongly believe in the well-being of our employees and their families. The pay range for this role is $147,000 - $240,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits andor other applicable incentive compensation plans.
