The Project Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing the financial needs and reports of an organization's project management system. They will be responsible for the budgeting, forecasting, and providing insights into the financial performance of projects.Location: This position is located in Newark, NJ. Qualified candidate is preferred to be in a commutable distance and able to go into the office as needed. This team typically goes into the office 2+ days a weekResponsibilities:• Portfolio level Governance and Reporting:o Prepare annual project budgets and monthly project forecastso IT portfolio project consolidation reportingo Analyze cost drivers and monthly performance of project compared to forecast and budgeto Actual cost analysiso Project metrics reportingo Risk Management (financial, project delivery, tracking operations and maintenance future costs resulting from Capital projects)o Develop the Financial Section of the monthly operational review packageo Perform detailed analysis of real time monthly project expenditures to ensure costs are properly coded and identify project fiscal discrepancies• Project Level Governance and Support:o Challenge the project's estimate-to-complete by following company procedures and ensuring risk and opportunities are managed to optimize the project financial targetso Project scheduling and financial controller guidance in accounting (accruals, journal entries, amortizations, depreciation etc.)o Supporting Project ManagersControllers with project change requestso Works with Property Accounting in project set up.o Assist Project Team in developingreviewingimplementing cost corrective actions & recovery planso Guidance on contract issueso Assist with resolution of discrepancies through communications with vendors andor departmentsRequirements:• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or other related discipline with 4+ years of experience working in a project financial analyst role• Experience in developing databases to consolidate data from multiple sources• Experience working with MS Project or Primavera (P6) and Project Web Access (PWA) or another similar SharePoint tool• Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities• High degree of computer literacy including advanced knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and the remainder of the MS Office suite• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Solid understanding of Project Management and Project Management Office functions• Excellent researching, decision-making and organizational skills are required• Proven ability to strategically analyze data, provide comprehensive solutions to problems, and manage workload in order to meet customer needs• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and follows through on assignments with minimal direction while keeping the team informed• Works effectively in a collaborative team environment• Capacity to adapt to changing work priorities• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection and other guidelines where appropriate#LI-CGTS #TS-(3262)
