JGM | Resident Engineer

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a reliable Resident Engineer to join the LACMTA program. The Resident Engineer is the focal point for on-site construction management activities and is the single point of contact for communication, both written and oral, with the Contractor.ResponsibilitiesCoordinating with contractors: Reviewing and coordinating daily work schedules, and meeting regularly to resolve issues Evaluating contractors: Reviewing and evaluating contractors' proposed progress schedules, and monitoring their conformance Recommending corrective action: Recommending corrective action if a deviation from the project plan occurs Managing and planning project timelines, budgets, and staffing Ensuring that completed work complies with plans and specifications Ensuring optimal working conditions for construction personnel Testing materials Approving workmanship Maintaining records Required QualificationsApproximately 20 years' experience in construction supervision with at least 12 years as Resident Engineer or Construction Manager on large design-build rail projects. Proven track record in at-grade, aerial and underground construction techniques as applicable. In-depth experience in contract administration of alternate delivery construction contracts. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. California PE is required.
