Harry Winston | Director, Product Developement

Job Summary:The Director of Harry Winston, Product Development, will oversee all new product development for both high jewelry and core collection items from conception to finished good. The Director is responsible for the leadership, management and development of staff. This position requires an innovative director to take the team to the next level while adhering to the utmost quality of luxury jewelry.Specific Functions include:Responsible for growing and coaching a highly motivated and talented product development team while leading them to successfully execute on the product roadmapOversee management of all projects, ensuring deadlines are met and jewelry is executed per design specifications and quality assurance guidelinesIntroduce and promote technology enhancements for best manufacturing practicesWork closely with Design Director to ensure design concept is validate manufacturabilityWork closely with Gem Acquisition Director to optimize workflowOversee engineering changes to existing models and implement accordinglyBuild and maintain relationships with internal and external suppliersReview estimates on new projectsNegotiate final costsIdentify key performance indicators and set appropriate targetsRegularly analyze manufacturing performance data to identify areas of improvementsKey Job Relationships:Internal:Work with Manufacturing; Gemstone Acquisition; Quality Assurance; Supply Management; Category Management; Marketing; other departments as neededExternal:Work with supporting vendors as neededJob Qualifications:Former management experience a mustStrong leadership, interpersonal and communication skillsHands on and pragmatic decision-makerStrong project management skillsMinimum 15 years jewelry manufacturing experienceMust know how to use a microscopeBench experience a plus; including Platinum and 18kt goldAbility and expertise to handle unique and high value stonesIndustry experience including Quality Assurance; Diamond and Gemstone gradingProficient computer skillsWorking knowledge of Rhino or similar CAD softwareExcellent written and verbal communication skills
