With offices in New York City, Columbus, Ohio and Houston, Texas we offer a local touch with a global reach.We want to continue to grow and need people just like you!About the RoleThe Principal AWS Engineer will be responsible for designing and optimizing cloud-based architectures on AWS to meet stringent internal standards, compliance requirements, and complex business needs. This role involves leveraging mustache-based templating to ensure that infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration templates align perfectly with the company's compliance and architectural frameworks.You will engage directly with senior business leaders, C-Level executives, and a diverse group of stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, secure, and scalable AWS solutions. Your ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable strategies for non-technical and executive audiences is paramount. Additionally, your understanding of the commercial banking landscape, particularly within Capital & Growth Markets, will allow you to design architectures that effectively solve business problems and drive innovation.Key Responsibilities:Architect end-to-end AWS solutions that meet stringent compliance, security, and performance standards, using mustache-based templating for infrastructure as codeCollaborate directly with C-Level executives and various stakeholders to understand business objectives, communicate solution concepts, and ensure alignment with strategic goalsEnsure solutions are compliant with internal frameworks, industry regulations, and best practices, particularly within commercial and investment banking sectorsContinuously refine and optimize architectures for reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiencyAct as the primary on-site technical expert, interfacing with client executives and internal teams, demonstrating impeccable professionalism and in-depth technical acumenTranslate complex requirements and regulatory constraints into actionable technical blueprints and system designsProvide mentorship and guidance to internal teams, fostering a high-performance engineering cultureThe salary for this role will be between $175,000 - $225,000 per year.About YouExtensive experience in AWS systems architecture, including design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale cloud environmentsDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with C-Level executives, translating complex technical concepts into strategic business solutionsHands-on experience with mustache or terraform templating or similar technologies for configuration and infrastructure as codeIn-depth understanding of compliance, security, and governance in a highly regulated financial services environmentProven track record of architecting innovative cloud solutions that solve complex business problems, ideally within Capital & Growth Markets or commercial bankingStrong knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, IAM, VPC) and best practicesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to confidently present to executive audiencesBachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field preferredStrong preference for candidates with experience in large-scale financial institutions or investment banking contextsSome of the Perks20 days paid vacation per year and 12 BJSS holidays5 paid sick daysCompetitive medical, dental and vision plans employer funded 80%4 x salary Life and AD&DCommuter benefits401K plan (BJSS will contribute 3% of salary into your 401K)An industry-leading referral scheme, with no limits on the number of referralsOur roles are not fully remote as we take pride in the tight knit communities we have created at our local offices.
