Project Manager I role is intended for experienced designers who can manage their own projects with minimal oversight from Project Manager II, Senior Project Manager, andor Principal. Project Manager I is responsible to learn and perform managerial duties (e.g. project scheduling, billing invoices, budget tracking, proposal and addendum preparation) for assigned projects and to train and manage one to two design engineers with the guidance of their Project Manager II, Senior Project Manager, and or Principal.Qualifications8+ years of experience (or 4+ years of Project Management experience) in site development and design of various projects (e.g. Residential, Commercial, Mixed-used projects, Public and Private Entities, projects subject to DSA approval)Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineeringCalifornia Professional Engineering (PE) LicenseProficiency in using advanced Civil 3DAutoCAD design tools such as corridors, pipe networks, etc. is encouragedProficiency in using various engineering software (e.g. HydroCAD, WaterCAD, AutoTurn)Ability to effectively communicate with co-consultants and governing municipalitiesagencies to seek required approvalsExperience in general and complex civil engineering design topics.Knowledge of civil engineering topics including hydraulichydrology, storm water quality, geometric layout, geotechnical and structural analysisStrong problem-solving, communication, and listening mitted dedication to ethical codes of practiceResponsibilitiesWork with Project Manager andor Senior Project Manager to learn and carry out managerial aspects of assigned projectsPrepare billing invoicesTrack budgets for assigned projects and help determine if a proposal addendum or add service approval is requiredAssist with preparing proposal addenda or additional services requests including determining scope and costManage tasks for one to two members with Project Manager's II andor Senior Project Manager's guidanceTrain one to two members with Project Manager's II and or Senior Project Manager's guidanceEvaluate performance of your team membersParticipate in employee's review with Project Manager II, Senior Project Manager, and or PrincipalProvide documentation for employee performance evaluationsReview (QCQA) plans with supporting documents for preliminary and permit phases for assigned projectsPerform, schedule, manage, coordinate design, andor manage of various aspects assigned projects from planning to construction phaseDetermine project status and scheduling project deliverables (for assigned projects) to keep clients project consultants informed with Project Manger's II andor Senior Project Manager's guidanceConduct project research and project coordination with governing municipalitiesagenciesLead coordination with consultants (project architect, geotechnical engineer, structural engineer, arborist, surveyor andor contractor) for various design aspects of projectsLead meetings, site visits and field inspections with contractors and project consultants as neededTake on full design responsibility for Site Development plans and documents (e.g. Grading and Drainage Plans, On Site and Street Improvement plans, Storm Water Quality. Utility Plans, Parking Lot layout, Tentative Maps, Feasibility Exhibits)Perform andor oversee design calculations including earthwork quantities, impervious surface areas, drainage analysis, etc.Prepare andor oversee project reports and supporting documents including hydrology reports, feasibility studies and engineers cost estimates, etc.
